Waldhotel Humboldt in Salzhemmendorf

Beautiful location on the edge of the forest, inviting for cyclists and hikers, but also easy to reach by car. I only rate the restaurant. The food tastes very good and is plentiful. The menu contains tasty meat and vegetarian dishes, especially with fresh mushrooms and vegetables. The staff is nice and friendly.

We are appalled. Today, after a long hike, we stopped at the Waldhotel Humboldt in the hope of coffee and cake. There was enough of both at 2:30 p.m., guests were about 10 people who had certainly reserved. We and three other couples unfortunately not. Service staff was two or three. It is a mystery to us why we were neither asked that a pre-order was desired (the sign in the entrance area could only be noticed after carefully studying the showcase!), Nor why the opportunity to generate sales was taken advantage of. But if you don't want to make money, you don't earn us. I find it extremely strange when two young women around the age of 25 are unable or unwilling to serve eight people. Someone tell me that this restaurant suffers from Corona to a certain extent? Apparently there are so many reserves here that day visitors are not welcome. This restaurant / café will never see me again. Just unbelievable!!

On August 14th we wanted to eat German. We have been there a few times and the food tasted excellent. 5 stars for the food. Today there was a sign outside that guests who had not reserved beforehand are not accepted. The staff sat at the table outside and didn't even want to pour us a beer, although not a single guest was there. They explained that 4 waiters got sick and that is why we do not get any food or beer. There were no guests in the restaurant or outside !!!! We found that outrageous. We were really disappointed with the staff.

Nice big clean rooms, staff is friendly and nice and you are treated like a little king. WiFi is good and the parking lot is nice and big. Generally a nice place for families and those who just want to enjoy peace and quiet. Gladly again soon

Nice small German forest hotel. The hotel is at the side of a beautiful forest and 3 seas. The hotel have a sauna.

Very good food at an even better price, very nice rooms with good furnishings, unfortunately a bit old. That is not a problem, you feel comfortable and welcome!
